Major attractions: Cambodia’s national festivals are also a major attraction for tourists. Khmer New Year is a 3-4 days festival and is celebrated in April. Royal Ploughing Festival or Bon Chroat Preah Nengkal is celebrated near Royal Palace of Phnom Penh in early May. Full Moon Day festival is celebrated November. Bon Om Tuk or Water festival is also an important festival.
Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda - palace of Sihanouk, Tuol Sleng Museum, Wat Phnom- a spiritual place, National Museum of Arts – showing rare Angkorian crafts, Central Market, Russian Market etc are some major spots of tourist attraction. Sihanoukville beach of Cambodia is white sandy beach and is emerging as the most popular destination among the tourists. Here you can enjoy snorkelling and diving too. Ochheuteal is another popular beach located at 230km from Phnom Penh. It has good facilities to stay. You can reach there by bus in about 3.5 hours. The natural beauty and wildlife activities of Ream National Park can prove the worth of tour.
During your holiday tour of Cambodia, you can also plan to visit Ban Lung [Rattanakiri], which is a small town. Being there you can enjoy exploring activities in Cambodia's largest park, Virachey. Here you will enjoy the natural beauty of rainforest, waterfalls and many mountain tribes. Battanmbang is another small town of tourist attraction. Angkorian temples like Wat Banan and Wat Ek Phnom are also the major attraction for tourists.
How to get in: Cambodia has two main airports named as Siem Reap International Airport and Phnom Penh International Airport. Phnom Penh and Siem Reap both are well connected with neighboring countries. From Bangkok, daily flights to Phnom Penh are being operated by Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways and Royal Phnom Penh Airways.
It takes around an hour to reach. If you are planning to reach Cambodia via Vietnam then Vietnam Airlines and Royal Phnom Penh Airways are the best options.
