About Japan:Japan is a country of islands and is located in Pacific Ocean. Japan exists at the east of Korea, China, and Russia.Japan is stretched from Sea of Okhotsk in North to East China sea in south. Some people call Japan as the "Land of the Rising Sun". When to go: In Japan during spring season which is March to May, sky becomes crystal clear. This is the most celebrated season of Japan. Major attractions: Japan is the country of countercultures, gardens, future dreams, glittering cities, shrines, islands and mountains. Fukuoka, Osaka, Sapporo, Kyoto, Tokyo and Nagoya are the main tourist destinations of Japan. Daisetsuzan National Park, Tokyo National Museum, Mt Fuji, Matsuyama-jō castle, Lexington Queen in Roppongi night club, Kyoto Imperial Palace Park, Kinkasan island, Kamakura Daibutsu monument, Iriomote-jima island are some of the popular tourist destinations of Japan.
National events and festivals: Various national festivals are celebrated in Japan throughout the year. Some of these festival are- New Year - (31st December to 3rd January) and Doll Festival (3rd March). Shichi-Go-San, a festival for 3, 5 and 7 yrs old children is celebrated on 15th November.

How to get in and move around:
Most of the international tourists come via Tokyo but there are other ways too to reach your holiday destination in Japan. Japan has airports in most of the major cities. Hokkaido Air System, Japan Transocean Air, Ryukyu Air Commuter etc are domestic Japanese airlines.
Skymark Airlines, Skynet Asia Airways, Starflyer airlines operate low-fare flights. JAL and many other airlines offer some law fare schemes too so don’t forget to ask for such opportunities.You can reach Japan from some nearby countries like South Korea by sea route also.Local transport in most of the Japanese cities is efficient. As being a foreigner, you may find it difficult to use bus service so it is better either to use trams or taxis. |
