About Mali : Mali is a West-African landlocked country. It is bordered by Algeria in north, Niger in east-south, Ivory Coast and Burkina Fasso in south, Guinea in south-west, Mauritania in north-west and Senegal in west. Bamako is the capital of Mali. Its mud-built mosques, villages, camel caravans crossing the deserts, make Mali a tourist destination of its own kind.

When to go: The climate of Mali can be divided in three main seasons. November – February season is cool and dry; March – May season is hot as well as dry and June – October season is rainy season. You can plan your Mali holiday tour in between October to March.
Accommodation: Accommodation in Mali is expensive and sometimes it becomes difficult to get proper accommodation. Hence, it is better to make advance booking. In Mali only Bamako has some hotels of international standards, but other major towns of Mali too have some good hotels.

Top tourist attractions of Mali: Bamako is cultural and educational centre of Mali. Botanical Gardens, Musée National, zoo, craft centre at Maison des Artisans ate the main tourist spots. Djenné, a beautiful place, is also known as 'Jewel of the Niger'. It is an important link of Trans-Saharan gold trading business.

Mopti is located at confluence of Bani and Niger. Marché des Souvenirs and surrounding area are worth of your visit. In the southeast of Mopti, there is Bandiagara. Cliffs of Bandiagara are also listed as World Heritage Site. Bandiagara provides you the opportunity of enjoying trekking.

Timbuktu is place where you can see many camel caravans and beautiful mosques. GAO is another place of tourist attraction. A visit to National Park of La Boucle de Baoule brings you close to wildlife as leopards, lions, giraffes, elephants, hippos and buffalos roam freely. Sibi is small town near Bamako but has very nice natural spots to visit and rocks to climb.

Getting in and move arround:The Mali airport is about twenty minutes car drive from Bamako city. Air France operates daily non-stop flights from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Bamako. A royal Air Maroc airline is cheaper than Air France.

This airline operates numerous daily flights from New York and Europe via Morocco. Many other African and pan-African airlines like Air Mauritania, Air Afriqiyah and Air Senegal etc also operate numerous flights for Mali airport.

In Mali, you can move around by domestic flights, bus or taxi. Mopti, Timbuktu, Yelimané, Kayes, Gao, Sadiola and Kidal are well connected by air and road routes.
